Palm Beach Attractions – The Square Grouper/Castaways Marina Jun 01

the square grouper and castaways marinaFans of sippin’ on somethin’ early at the beach or any bar, and Hilton Singer Island Oceanfront Resort guests can agree, this place is something to see.

Though it’s no Ta-boo, This Tiki bar will tickle you pink when you’ll find yourself familiar with its claim to fame – The Square Grouper and Castaways Marina is precisely the point on the map where Jimmy Buffet and Alan Jackson recorded “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere.”

“Cast away” your worries and toss your friends a line while you wait on your drink from this quirky little beer bar, or have something special poured for you from a Gatorade cooler – it’s “cooler” like that, don’tcha know.

Reggae rumbas with country (credit to more Buffet tunes) over the heads of the crowd that collects around this little treasure amidst the palm trees. Regular drink specials and live music is scheduled for patrons, as well as frequent special events for fundraisers and benefits. There’s nothing like having a beer with Buffet on the boat to benefit the Jupiter Beach or Lighthouse.

Although it’s not some place you’ll find suits and ties, you’ll find a good time and taste the tune of Jackson and Buffet’s carefree jive only complimented by the view of the waving water and Jupiter Lighthouse.

With white sand beneath your toes and boats with buoys bobbing feet away, raise your glass to memories present and past; recline even if just for a minute to say you’ve seen the birthplace of the duo’s lush-lover tune after you tether your boat.

If you stop by for lunch, if and when you’re told it’s “too early” for a boozy brew, tell ‘em it doesn’t matter if it’s high noon ’cause it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.
